50 movies! =O I don't think I watched 10 last year, all the way through at least. LOL.

I do recommend, however, Phone Booth. Why Phone Booth? I have no idea why I thought of it tbh, it just popped into my head. And it is a great movie. =D

And watch Hannibal Rising!! How could I forget that! Gaspard Ulliel-ness!! xD
Ruby[info]moveitslow on January 20th, 2008 07:31 pm (UTC)
The person I stole it from had 100. That was just.. too much. Lol.

I did watch phone booth, it's great.

Hannibal rising is funny to mention. Actually, I wasn't too fond of Gaspard untill I saw the trailer. But GOD it's so hot. I really want to watch it, even though I will never ever watch any of the other Hannibal movies (the older hannibal scares me to pieces)!

Thanks =D

It scares you really? :) You see this is where people think I'm totally retarded - I just laugh in the gorey parts and laugh in the death scenes and laugh where laughter was not the intended emotion outcome.

Yes, I'm strange and proud. xD
Ruby[info]moveitslow on January 20th, 2008 08:18 pm (UTC)
Oh no, it's not the gory parts really. It's the actor. He just plays it ... too convincing. Hannibal himself scares me. He's so freakin'smart. I don't really care about the gore and deaths and all that.
moved moved moved[info]lambonheroin on January 20th, 2008 08:21 pm (UTC)
I agree, he is very convincing. I think it's the eyes tbh. But with Gaspard playing Hannibal all I was thinking was 'Gaspard, you can tie me to a tree if you like.' LOL.
Ruby[info]moveitslow on January 20th, 2008 08:40 pm (UTC)
I didn't want to watch it at first either, but as I said, I watched the trailer, and DAMN. I never realised Gaspard was so hot (and such a PERFECT vampire). Blood licking scene in hannibal rising is just HOT.

Guh... tell me about it. Just another thing to add to the 'Reasons why Gaspard Ulliel IS Edward Cullen list'
I'm pretty sure that scene was not supposed to be sexual. xD
Ruby[info]moveitslow on January 20th, 2008 09:18 pm (UTC)
I bet it wasn't! =D

I'm doing this too! Only mine doesn't involve a number because I know I won't reach it! :P

I recommend Girl with a Pearl Earring, and Phone Booth as well.
Ruby[info]moveitslow on January 20th, 2008 07:32 pm (UTC)
I'm a very big dvd fan, so I know I'll get there, probably.

What's this pearl earring thing about? ;)

I suck at summarising films so:
Griet is a maid in the house of painter Johannes Vermeer. Vermeer's wealthy patron and sole means of support, Van Ruijven, commissions him to paint Griet with the intent that he will have her for himself before it is finished. She must somehow secretly pose for the crucial painting without the knowledge of Vermeer's wife, avoid Van Ruijven's grasp, and protect herself from the cruel gossip of the world of a 17th century servant.

It's about this painting: http://essentialvermeer.20m.com/catalogue_xl/xl_girl_with_a_pearl_earring.jpg

Sounds .. weird LOL
Lorna: Giselle[info]butterflylove9 on January 20th, 2008 08:50 pm (UTC)
Hehe! It is a *is trying not to say weird* different(?) film so, yeah, maybe not everyones cup of tea.
Natasha: live like you mean it[info]thecorporeal on January 20th, 2008 09:58 pm (UTC)
Oh, Girl With A Pearl Earring! Yeah, it's based on the painting. Very beautiful drama film and romance. Has Cillian Murphy, haha, which is a plus. Yeah, I'd recommend that too!
Natasha: live like you mean it[info]thecorporeal on January 20th, 2008 07:28 pm (UTC)
Oooo~ This sounds fun! I think I'll try it too! :D

I recommend.. Hmmmm. Sunshine! It's an amazing independent Sci-Fi by director Danny Boyle, and it has an amazing cast (including Cillian Murphy!). <3
Ruby[info]moveitslow on January 20th, 2008 07:32 pm (UTC)
What's it about? :)
Natasha: live like you mean it[info]thecorporeal on January 20th, 2008 08:03 pm (UTC)
50 years into the future, the Sun begins to die, and Earth is dying as a result. A team of astronauts are sent to revive the Sun - but the mission fails. Seven years later, the crew of the Icarus 2 are sent into deep space to reignite the sun, after the failure of the first mission.

It's way cooler than it sounds. It's kind of a homage to movies like Alien, Solaris, and so on. But it's got it's own originality. And awesome special effects. Very beautiful soundtrack, as well. ;D
Ruby[info]moveitslow on January 20th, 2008 08:18 pm (UTC)
Thanks for explaining :D

I don't think it's a movie I'd like though *blush*
Natasha: then and now[info]thecorporeal on January 20th, 2008 09:02 pm (UTC)
Sure thing! :D

Well, since that's not exactly your type of movie, is there a type you'd be interested in? I could recommend one more to your liking.
Ruby[info]moveitslow on January 20th, 2008 09:20 pm (UTC)
I like a lot of different styles, but I'm usually not for space-oriented movies. Nor Aliens. Or Zombies. Lol. Generally, I hate every type of horror movies, exept for vampire stories, which I love. I like comedies and romances, but in general I'd say, mostly drama and psychological thrillers. =)
Natasha: fussle[info]thecorporeal on January 20th, 2008 09:41 pm (UTC)
I freaking love psychological thrillers so I'll probably have tons to recommend. Haha. Um, what about... The Machinist? Or Disco Pigs! If you haven't seen either of them I can get you some descriptions! :D
Ruby[info]moveitslow on January 20th, 2008 10:22 pm (UTC)
Haven't heared of either. *grin* Disco pigs. Lol!
Natasha: live like you mean it[info]thecorporeal on January 20th, 2008 10:41 pm (UTC)
Heehee, yes, it is an amusing name! But both are VERY good movies. ;D

The Machinist Summary:
THE MACHINIST is the story of TREVOR REZNIK, a lathe-operator who is dying of insomnia. In a machine shop, occupational hazards are bad enough under normal circumstances; yet for Trevor the risks are compounded by fatigue. Trevor has lost the ability to sleep. This is no ordinary insomnia...

Very strange movie, and makes you think. It stars Christian Bale (who, I should warn, lost a lot of weight to insure the movie was realistic.)

Disco Pigs Summary:
Pig and Runt - born on the same day, in the same hospital, moments apart. Twins, all but by blood. Inseparable from birth, they are almost telepathic. They are also partners in crime, with an appetite for recklessness, exploration and destruction. But days before their 17th birthday the perfect balance of their world begins to shift. Pig's sexual awakening and increasing jealousy begins to threaten the private universe they have spent their lives constructing. Unable to contemplate the loss of Runt, Pig's unpredictable nature spirals out of control in a trail of violence. The invisible thread between them is stretched to breaking point, the inseparable are about to separate, and which one will survive depends on which one can break free.

This movie is one of my favorites. It's truly like nothing I've ever watched. Beautiful cinematography and very fairy-tale like, but chaotic. Based on the stage play. It's an Irish film (in English, of course!). Stars none other than Cillian Murphy (who played the role on stage, too), and also, Elaine Cassidy.

Hope I was descriptive enough, haha! ;D
Ruby[info]moveitslow on January 21st, 2008 09:25 pm (UTC)
Those don't sound bad! Especially the first :) I might look them up sometime :D Thanks

Cool idea! I'm doing this for books I'll read this year too, because I can never remember what I've read!

Go see Enchanted, it's fluffy and Disney and nice :)

I am going to see I Am Legend tonight :D
Ruby[info]moveitslow on April 24th, 2008 01:32 am (UTC)
Lol, Yea I'm writing my books down on paper, but i'll never get to 50 with those. I Am Legend is not my type really. I might check out Enchanted xD

Lost and Delirious
Well, like I told you it's about this girl who is sent to boarding school, and set in the room with two girls who are best friends. Later, she founds out they're lovers, and when one of them is found by her younger sister, and nearly outed, the whole affair starts to crumble. :p
